Đầu Dune HD Player HD Base 3D sở hữu thiết kế quen thuộc trên những sản phẩm của Dune, kiểu dáng không khác đầu đĩa DVD hay Blu-ray. Máy có kiểu dáng dài hình chữ nhật thay vì vuông. Toàn bộ phần vỏ máy được làm từ nhôm với lớp sơn đen sần, cho cảm giác chắc chắn. Mặt trước với màn hình LED xanh đơn sắc ở trung tâm, hai bên nhường vị trí cho khay đựng đĩa dạng trượt khá tiện dụng, cùng với các phím chức năng phổ biến, giắc tai nghe 3,5 mm và khe đọc thẻ nhớ. Việc chỉ có 1 cổng USB ở mặt trước là thiếu sót ở sản phẩm.

Hai bên sườn của máy không có bất kỳ khe tản nhiệt nào, thay vào đó, máy sử dụng khe ở mặt đáy kết hợp với một quạt nhỏ nằm ở mặt sau. Phía sau của Dune Base 3D là nơi tập trung tất cả các kết nối chính.
